Don't laugh — she's right
Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova just held another "what unfortunate things did Washington say this week?" press briefing, with predictable results (Washington said a lot of unfortunate things this week).
Maria's remarks and statements about current events lasted more than one hour — a bona fide truth marathon. But then came our favorite part of every Zakharova press conference: question time.
After about two or three questions, an unsuspecting journalist took the microphone. Maria immediately noticed that something was terribly, terribly wrong — and shouted:
Be careful because there is a journalist from CNN sitting behind you.
And then after a short pause for maximum comedic effect:
I escaped from them, you know.
For those who don't know: A CNN weirdo recently ambushed Zakharova as she was leaving the Foreign Ministry. She politely asked him to stop being awful.
