Russia Wins Best Actor, Actress Awards at a Top China Film Festival

  • Yulia Peresild who played Soviet World War II sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko in Russian-Ukrainian film "Battle of Sevastopol" won Best Actress award.
  • Artem Tsypin starring in "White White Night" drama was named the best actor.

BEIJING, April 23, (TASS) - Russian actors won two Tiantan awards at the 5th International Film Festival in Beijing on Thursday.

Artem Tsypin starring in "White White Night" drama was named the best actor. 

Yulia Peresild who played Soviet World War II sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko in Russian-Ukrainian film "Battle of Sevastopol" won Best Actress award.

The Best Feature Film award went to Mexican movie "The Beginning of Time".

A total of 15 films competed for Tiantan Awards.

The festival's international jury was headed by French filmmaker and producer Luc Besson.
