As expected, Poroshenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a resolution calling for the dismissal of Valentyn Nalyvaichenko as Chairman of Ukraine’s SBU security service. The resolution passed with 248 votes in favor.
104 MPs from "Poroshenko Bloc", and 69 MPs from the Popular Front Party, voted for Nalyvaichenko's dismissal.

Nalyvaichenko was accused of being a "protégé" of Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, whose assets were recently seized by Kiev.
The dismissed security chief came under fire after "accusing ex-Prosecutor General Anatoly Danylenko of covering up alleged corruption at oil firm BRSM-Nafta and co-owning the company."
