US State Department Bemoans 'Russian-Led, Russian-Funded, Russian-Trained So-Called Separatists'

A Russian mouthful

If you are a responsible taxpayer who reads the New York Times each morning with your bowl of gluten-free, fair trade Raisin Bran, you'll know that the Russian Army invaded Ukraine many years ago but was halted in its tracks by the valiant efforts of Ukrainian skinheads who volunteered to defend European Values.

And yet, for some odd reason, the US State Department continues to weasel around the simple, verifiable fact that Russian tanks zooming towards Kiev were stopped by "armored" garbage trucks

Proof

Look at how the Trump Administration (a State Department spokesman, but still!) bends reality with its slimy euphemisms:

QUESTION: Right. I just wanted to make sure that was what I was getting at.

QUESTION: Did you say --

QUESTION: And – hold on --

QUESTION: -- Russian-led separatists? Did you – Russian-led?

MS NAUERT: Yes.

QUESTION: Or Russian-supported separatists?

MS NAUERT: Both.

QUESTION: You think they are Russian-led?

MS NAUERT: Russian – we believe they’re Russian-led, Russian-funded, Russian-trained separatists – so-called separatists.

"Russian – we believe they’re Russian-led, Russian-funded, Russian-trained separatists – so-called separatists."

This is the first time we've ever heard the term "Russian-led". And also the first time we've ever heard of "so-called separatists". Why not add "Russian-hacked so-called separatists", just to make it more painfully ridiculous?

Or why not just call them what they are — men and women in Eastern Ukraine who have taken up arms against an illegitimate government that is shelling their cities and homes?

"Nah".
