There has been a lot of talk about Turkey’s unpredictability lately, and now not only Russia is indignant over the unjustified downing of its aircraft, but also the United States and NATO.

Yet it’s clear that Turkey is transitioning from a secular state and obedient US satellite, to an Islamic state. Erdogan was elected on this platform, so he has not been hiding anything. 2014 was the first time in Turkey’s history that the President was elected by popular vote, and if the majority of the Turkish people hadn’t agreed with his project, they would not have elected him.

Erdogan is rapidly moving closer to the Islamic radicals, including the ISIS, and we can expect him to do so more and more openly.
