Tillerson to Ask Lavrov for No-Fly Zones in Syria. Lavrov to Laugh and Laugh

Just go home, Rex

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has begun his pointless fool's errand to Moscow.

He was originally slated to only meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, but according to RT, it's possible Rex might also have a brief chat with Putin.

Lavrov welcomed Tillerson by politely asking what the heck the US is doing in Syria:

We have given our position — we have got our message across to Washington and you as well multiple times.

It is important for us to understand your intentions, the intentions of the US and the real intentions of this administration. We hope that today we can clear up these issues.

What else is on the agenda? Oh, just things that will never happen:

Ahead of the summit, Russia's deputy foreign minister, Sergei Ryabkov, was reported to have accused the US of "primitive, loutish rhetoric" on Syria as he said Mr Tillerson wanted to discuss no-fly zones in the war-torn country.
