John Kerry Speaks on Terrorism; Makes Complete Ass of Himself

Bumbling 'diplomat' inserted a huge foot into his huge mouth

Earlier this month I wrote a short piece on why the US diplomatic corps just doesn't measure up - particularly when going up against its far more able and professional Russian counterpart.

I mentioned how America's top diplomat, John Kerry, is not even a diplomat; and that this causes big problems for the US when he has to deal with men like Russia's Sergey Lavrov or Iran's Mohammad Zarif.

This week Kerry showed - yet again - just how much of a rank amateur he really is; and it did not require a brutal humiliation at the hands of a Lavrov or a Zarif to do it. He managed this one all on his own.

Speaking at the US embassy in Paris this past Tuesday, Kerry remarked that the terrorist attacks on Charlie Hebdo were more understandable and had a clearer rationale than those of last Friday, which claimed the lives of more than 130 people and counting.

'There's something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that', said Kerry. 'There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of - not legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, ok, they're really angry because of this and that. This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate'.

Wow. This is what the Americans have for France? This is what they get?

Don't get me wrong; I'm not implying that Kerry for one second thought that there was any legitimacy in the Hebdo attack. He's just an idiot who is woefully overmatched by the most fundamental dictates of his job.

Kerry's careless, confused, disorganized, and irresponsible remarks were not only an obscene insult to France and to the French people. They were also, in a way, a microcosm of the careless, confused, disorganized, and irresponsible policies of the Obama administration itself.

John Kerry has not apologized to France for his heinous remarks, just as his boss has never apologized for any part of the litany of horror that he has unleashed around the world, or at least nurtered, fostered, or supported in one way or another. Neither is surprising. One thing seems certain at least - we probably won't be seeing any 'Je Suis Kerry' t-shirts any time soon. That's worth something I suppose.
