Among the well-known symbols of Russia, like the matryoshka, accordion, vodka, and so on, there is one more mysterious element of Russian culture - Fabergé eggs.
A great collection of 50 precious eggs became a symbol of the great Russian empire and an exemplar of the artistry of the jeweller. They were created for the Royal Family as presents for Easter. Each one of them was a genuine masterpiece.

After the Bolsheviks came to power, a part of the eggs disappeared and were never found, which also created extra publicity surrounding Fabergé and his collection.
