Mainstream media and Trump's people continue to trade vicious punches
If the first encounter between Trump's new press secretary and the media was the Fort Sumter of the approaching war between the presidency and the media, then the follow up appearance by Trump's PR artillerywoman, Kellyanne Conway on NBC with speaking head Chuck Todd was definitely the Battle of Bull Run.
Ambushed by the insufferable Todd she gave as good as she got, making for a uniquely hostile and tortous TV encounter between the usually sycophantically servile media and one of President's people.
Like Spicer, Conway derided the media for falsehoods but her best moment came when she basically told Todd to shut up and ridiculed him for the lack of trust the viewing public has in the news:
"You want the American people to think they can't trust The White House press secretary, that's a very dangerous statement to make. Your job is to report the news, not to give your opinion, you're not an opinion columnist."
