A hero of our time

Sometimes there's a US Navy pilot — we don't want to say a 'hero' US Navy pilot, because what's a hero? But sometimes there's a US Navy Pilot who chooses not to bomb brown people that he can't identify.
Such is the case of a certain "Capt. James McCall", who allegedly aborted a planned strike in Mosul "with only seconds to spare" because an unidentified human was spotted nearby the city block that he was about to vaporize.
Choosing not to bomb urban areas — even when you have clearance? That takes courage. Especially when all the other US pilots are blowin' up Iraqis with impunity:
Recent investigations into a series of U.S. airstrikes that allegedly killed scores or hundreds of civilians near Mosul, Iraq, have raised troubling questions about the way the fight against the Islamic State is being prosecuted.
But a less-known story about a planned strike aborted with only seconds to spare is proof for Capt. James McCall that his aviators are doing what they ought. McCall, the commanding officer of Carrier Air Wing 8, attached to the Bush, told Military.com the nerve-wracking call took place in mid-April.
Hundreds of civilians are now not dead. Yeah, that's a nerve-wracking call. Some might even call it "gutsy":
