"Russia has tested an ultrasonic missile which is invincible to NATO defense systems."
Judging by the foreign media's headlines, the Ministry of Defense footage didn't go unnoticed. Acknowledging the advantages of the Russian systems, foreign experts are learning how to pronounce names like Burevestnik, Poseidon, Avangard, Peresvet, and Sarmat.
Dmitry Petrov reports on the details.
This footage shows the most recent test of the latest anti-ballistic missile. You can see how rapidly it takes off, intercepting the target a few seconds later.
Andrey Prikhodko, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Russia's AD-ABM VKS: “During its test launch, the missile completed a full flight, successfully intercepting the target.”
The Ministry of Defense keeps this weapon's performance characteristics classified. However, experts believe that this missile will perform in the A-135 short-range ABM interception zone in the Moscow Region. A new engine and electronically-controlled payload allow it to intercept any single or multiple targets within its terminal trajectory. This means that our capital is safe from attacks from outer space.
This is Kinzhal (Dagger), a tactical retaliatory weapon. This MiG-31K interceptor crew is conducting air-to-ground combat exercises. This ultrasonic missile can accelerate to a speed ten times higher than the speed of sound. It's impossible to dodge its attack because Kinzhal starts maneuvering, changing its flight altitude and trajectory when approaching the target.

Sergey Dronov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Russia's VKS: “Over 350 flights have been performed, all combat training tasks were completed with high precision and in a timely fashion, providing joint combat experience for the crew.”
“Attention! You are cleared to continue operating within the current trajectory and specifications.”
The interceptors work with Tu-22M3 long-range bomber crews. This is a fragment from combat training for intercepting sea targets and providing fighter cover for the strike group. Our Kinzhals are already on combat duty in the Caspian Sea. They're protecting Russia's southern borders and controlling an entire region. These are all the latest weapon systems that have been developed by Russia's engineers over the past few years.
In early March, the President had addressed the Federal Assembly announcing that the new weapons are ready. Obviously, this modernization doesn't cancel the scheduled reboot of the Army and the Navy. The Minister of Defense personally performs regular military inspections. This is typical equipment that's been supplied over the last three months.
Sergey Shoygu, Russia's Minister of Defense: “Over 600 weapon units and specialized pieces of military equipment, including 11 jets of various classes and special purposes, 5 helicopters, 36 radar stations with various modifications, 3 combat ships, including the Ivan Khurs intelligence collection ship, and the Vyshny Volochyok guided missile corvette.”
This is Avangard, another new system. This is the first time the Ministry of Defense has aired this footage, demonstrating the system's overall appearance for the first time. The Dombarovskiy RVSN division is accepting the first Avangards into service.
Sergey Poroskun, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the RVSN structure: “Russia's military-industrial complex has developed the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle. Industrial enterprises have launched its production line.”
The system is equipped with an intercontinental range warhead that doesn't stay within a ballistic trajectory, preventing its interception during the initial phase. Its speed of Mach 20 makes it invisible to any potential defense systems. It moves in the atmosphere's dense layer in a plasma cloud, following a random trajectory. Avangard approaches its target at a low altitude, circuiting the terrain. It can't be detected by any missile defense systems.
This is the Peresvet combat laser system. The Space Forces have received the most state-of-the-art weapons. They're getting acquainted with the new equipment.
“Commence the combat mission!”
Most of the information about this system is still classified. However, because Peresvet is truck-mounted, it's invulnerable to return fire.
Anatoly Nestechuk, Chief of Staff of Division 15 of the VKS RF Special Forces: “The Peresvet laser system crew members have undergone recurrent training at the Mozhaysky Military-Space Academy.”
The creation of Burevestnik is a true breakthrough that we're yet to fully appreciate. It's a nuclear-powered cruise missile. Its unlimited range allows traveling to any location following an unpredictable flight route.
Sergey Pertsev, Senior Staff Scientist of the CRI 12 of the Russian Ministry of Defense: “These unlimited-range cruise missiles are manufactured in an orderly fashion. The missile is constructed following specific requirements, followed by more ground-based testing, and it's also being prepared for future flight testing.”
The Poseidon oceanic multipurpose system is also nuclear-powered. It can target Navy and Air Force strike groups. It's equipped with conventional and nuclear warheads that are powerful enough to destroy a naval station.
Igor Kasatonov, Advisor for the Chief of the General Staff of the AF of the RF: “Its top characteristics, depth and speed abilities, and unpredictable travel and trajectory patterns make this system invulnerable.”
The drop test for the Sarmat ballistic missile is finished. The infrastructure is ready for the flight test. This is the most powerful intercontinental ballistic missile. Its large payload allows for the deployment of a variety of warheads. Sarmat can even carry the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicles; dangerous retaliatory weapons.
