Patriotic Rockers Perform for Russian Soldiers in Syria (Video)

A WWII tradition revived during the war on terror

We came here at the call of our hearts, says the leader of the popular Russian rock group Agatha Christie that came to perform at Khmemim, the Russian air force base in Syria. Pilots and service personnel joined in singing their famous hits.

The tradition dates back to WWII, known as the Great Patriotic War by Russians, when most famous Russian singers, actors and poets gave concerts at the front lines between attacks on the Nazis.
