This beautifully illustrated and produced multi-part series of videos from the YouTube channel "Epic History" gives a great overview of Russia's incredible millennium old saga.
Using a timeline and with the narrator describing the action on the map, it covers the major events and personalities of Russia's past, from the first appearance the Rus people and their ancient state centered around Kiev and Novgorod, through the emergence of modern Russia and ending with the assassination of Emperor Alexander II in 1881 (a part 5 is apparently planned).
