The head of the Russian Orthodox Church — Patriarch Kirill — spoke at the 3rd International Orthodox Youth Forum in Moscow, and from 1:18 to 1:48 on this video, he provided warnings about modern technology:

Through gadgets, it's possible to watch people, collect data about them, and do what we want to do, just because it's convenient and pleasant. By creating values which are convenient and pleasant, it's easy to create a system capable of controlling the masses.
