We began a photographic journey around Russia the other day which focused on the May 9th victory celebrations. Today we’d like to present you with some out of the ordinary, yet everyday photographs with permission from Valeri Akopov (Валерий Акопов).

Russia, the enormity of the place, it can also be gleaned through the vision that Russian people are. Just so, from the "beautiful" cliché to the everyday homecoming, an utterly amazing and immense subject.

The images below are some random shots I selected from Valeri's photo blog. They reflect the temperament and drama of the real live Russian people, beyond the headlines most people see. My goal here is to share with you, the same journey me and some compatriots are making, across the face of Russia.
