MINSK, April 8. /TASS/. Belarus is ready to join China’s Silk Road project designed to follow the ancient trade route and create an economic corridor between Europe and Asia, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said on Wednesday.

"Belarus is ready to actively join the work for filling this initiative with specific content in the form of transport, logistics and infrastructural projects," he added.

Minsk views the Great Stone Industrial Park, which Belarus and China are creating, as "the most important component of the Silk Road Economic Belt" on the boundaries between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union, he said.

At their talks on Wednesday, Belarus and China reached agreements on building up bilateral cooperation, the Belarusian foreign minister said.

Belarus-China trade has reached over $4 billion in the past two years, with Belarusian exports hitting more than $1billion, the minister said.

China’s integration project aims to revive the ancient Silk Road and build a transport, energy and trade corridor between Europe and Asia.
