The Second Russia-China Oil Pipeline Completed
The 942-kilometer pipeline will become operational in January when the flow of Russian pipeline oil to China will double from 15 to 30 million tons
On November 12, the second China-Russia crude oil pipeline project, which lasted 456 days, was finally completed, the 21st Century Business Herald reported.
According to the planned volume of pipeline transportation between China and Russia, after the completion of construction, Russian oil transported to China’s northeast by land-based crude oil pipelines will double from 15 million tons to 30 million tons.
The second China-Russia crude oil pipeline project started in 2013, when PetroChina and Russia signed a 30 million ton per year contract, aiming to fill the annual supply gap caused by the decline of crude oil production in northeast China.
According to the pipeline construction firm, CNPC Pipeline Company, the second China-Russia crude oil pipeline starts in the north from Mohe and runs south to Daqing, with a total pipeline length of 941.8 kilometers.
