In many western nations, anti-Russia hysteria is now more commonplace than herpes. But how did this disease spread so quickly?

Asked on Thursday about the sharp uptick in Russophobia and dumb CNN headlines, Putin correctly observed that Russia is being targeted because it is ushering in a new, multipolar world:

For some countries it’s spilling over the edge. What is this connected to? In my opinion, this is due to the fact that a multipolar world is being confirmed. And monopolists do not like this.

This is happening largely thanks to Russia’s struggle for its interests. And I want to emphasize, for its lawful interests.

Has anyone every come across a more succinct and accurate explanation of why Russia is in the West's cross hairs?
